Boosting tourism business growth through higher vocational education

The project BOOSTED aims at providing an aligned and relevant skillset for the Central Baltic region to grow as a coherent tourism destination. It boosts tourism business competitiveness through higher professional education in Finland, Estonia and Latvia.

THE BOOSTED PROJECT is about

• Identifying and aligning the skills in tourism business development through research

• Translating the skills into a joint curriculum of advanced tourism business development

• Implementing the curriculum as a joint study programme of 32 ects online in Finland, Estonia and Latvia.

The study programme is created in close co-operation with the tourism industry and around real-life business cases in order to support the industry development. Teaching material is also produced and experience is exchanged during an innovation camp. In addition, a teacher’s guide is produced and future teachers are coached.
